As undergraduate student at Union College, Ella heard about the Davis Projects for Peace and the opportunity it offers students to work on a project that promotes peace. She grasped it, and explored different ways she could work to give back to her community. Thus, Ella reached out and connected with different organizations, in her motherland (Ghana) working with orphaned students (who, by some cosmic interplay, don’t have the support many of us have access to) until the Egyam Children’s Home. While there, she had a conversation about the needs of the home and how best they can be supported; this led to the development of ST—to provide and a free, alternative, student-led vocational school for the students and community at large. In her free time, Ella enjoys singing, dancing, reading, photography, cooking, and biking.
Meet the team...
Hayley recently graduated with her masters degree in Mathematics Education. She was eager to jump at the opportunity to become involved in an organization designed to provide an education to women in need. The mission of Stitching Talents stood out to her, and, with an interest in media and website development she welcomed this new adventure with open arms. She is extremely passionate about the field of education and how it is viewed around the world. Hayley plans to continue working in education to help students discover their potential and reach their goals. In her free time, Hayley enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and working on her bus conversion.

Although each of our members have specific duties, we collaborate on all of our efforts for the school. As a team, we work to ensure that our students are provided with every support they may need while in attendance, and even beyond. We do all we can to help with monetary payments, health services, and education aside from our specific teachings. Contracts for some of our members have ended and we wish them the best in the next stages of their life!

We are actively seeking additional grant writers, a program developer, and members who are interested in our cause. Please connect with us if you are interested.
