We recruit students every three years to allow for optimal development and learning from our two teachers. We recruit up to 10 students who showcase enthusiasm for tailoring and mending, the two trades we teach.
Students' Progress
We have been recruiting and will continue to recruit through January. We currently have 8 students that will begin in the new year (2023). Over the course of their time at Stitching Talents they will work on
- Hemming
- Bottom fixing
- Fabric measuring and cutting
- Sewing skirts and shirts
In 2022 we graduated 4 students who will continue on with the support of the school as they begin their own business working at our new kiosk.
Our Progress
1. We plan on collaborating with the Moon Catcher project to begin learning about the production of usuable sanitary pads.

2. We are working with our sister project in Togo (YAGE) to explore ways we can generate revenue to support ST and YAGE, and hope to develop a system of exchanging clothing design ideas to learn about our culture.

3. We just built a kiosk where the students will be able to sell their goods and learn about business! Great things are coming to their community.

4. The students were able to take part in an Entrepreneurship course with the help of our previous Program Developer Crystal! The women were taught how to manage their own business and we even set them each up with bank accounts.
